Constructed three community and welfare shelters for tsunami victims - thanks to DRI, USA.  

Donated Rs.26.5 lakhs worth of furniture – 877 nos (student desk) to the tsunami affected schools – thanks to GIVE India, Mumbai.

Distributed Rs. 2 lakhs worth of Vitamin A and De-worming tablets to 50,000 students in the neighborhood schools of Tambaram under the Annual School Medical Checkup programme with the help of Vitamin Angel Alliance, USA. 

Distributed Rs.48 lakhs worth of hygiene packets consisting of tooth paste, brush, soap and shampoo to 1.2 lakhs students of the Annual School Medical Checkup programme with the help of M/s.Hindustan Lever Limited

CC Block inaugurated by Hon’ble Sri. Pranab Mukherjee, the then Minister for Defence on Tuesday, the 18th July 2006 at 4 p.m.

A Special Medical Camp for Ex-servicemen and their dependants from 21st – 24th June 2005 was conducted. 

The camp was inaugurated by Air Commodore M.S.Ahluwalia, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Tambaram. Mr.Pradeep Yadav, I.A.S, Joint Secretary(Public), Group Captain S.H.Atithal and Mr.K.Sivarama Navada, Asst.Director of Ex-servicemen’s Welfare, Tambaram participated and wished the camp a grant success.

254 patients were benefited and the hospital has waived a sum of Rs.1,15,558/- towards their medical treatment.


Cognizant Foundation was kind enough to donate Rs.22,15,000/- towards the purchase of Color Doppler Ultrasound Scanner and Stress Test System.

2004 27thAugust Sundaram Finance Golden Jubilee Block for Critical Care - Boomi Pooja In a simple ceremony, foundation stone for an critical care block was laid by shri. S. Ram, Director, M/s. Sundaram Finance at Hindu Mission Hospital premises.In the welcome speech Shri Srinivasan K Swamy, President Hindu Mission Hospital, Tambaram traced the evolution of the hospital right from 1982. Hindu Mission Hospital a major edifice is a landmark on the GST road has been built not merely by bricks and mortar but by sweat toil of a dedicated band of staff, volunteers and medical fraternity. The hospital has gained the unique confidence from the community, which has made our resolve reach larger section of patient community. In recognition of this, Sundaram Finance which has a long history of contributing to work of charity has come forward to contribute a large sum of Rs. 50 Lakhs towards construction to critical care which is the need today as Hindu Mission Hospital is situated on the accident prone area (National highways) of G S T road. The new critical care block will handle emergency trauma cases. In his speech, Shri.S.Ram, Director, Sundaram Finance commended the efforts of the hospital in alleviating the maladies of the poor. It is happy that Sundaram Finance has been given an opportunity to be a partner in the great journey undertaken by the hospital. He assured Sundaram Finance would be happy to associate itself in the future also. Shri. T.T Srinivasaraghavan, Managing Director, Sundaram Finance in his speech appreciated the work done by the hospital in the rural areas, to the poor and needy. Shri N. Murali, Joint Managing Director, The Hindu and Dr. K.P.Misra, Consultant Cardiologist, Apollo Hospitals felicitated the various services carried out by the Hospital. Shri D.K.Srinivasan, Secretary of the hospital proposed the vote of thanks and assured the dignitaries and audience, the hospital will strive utmost as a model of service to community at large.

Tsunami Medical Relief
Medical Camp Washed Away
Medical Camp Washed Away Hindu Mission Hospital Tambaram conducted its 230th Narayana Seva Rural Medical camp ton Sunday the 26th at Chinandi kuppam village (Enjiampakkam) in the Eallaiamman temple which is ½ a km from the sea.While the doctors & the staff were preparing themselves for the camp, few minutes before 9 am a huge wave more than 15 feet high hit the medical camp site. The whole medical camp was washed away including Medicine, equipment and furniture One ambulance van was washed aside by 20 feet and was perched on top on a fishing boat and entangled in fishing nets and wooden planks. A second wave, which came two hours later, further pushed this ambulance by another 20 - 30 feet. Having been literally swept away by the wave, the team of doctors and paramedical staff of Hindu Mission Hospital, quickly rallied round and organized relief operations. As a first step, food was prepared and food packets were distributed in the fishing village by Sunday lunchtime itself. 1000 pairs of gloves were distributed to volunteers to help them hygienically handle the disabled and to bury the dead in Nagapattinam District. Hindu Mission Hospital raises to the Occasion On Monday, (27.12.2004), under the instructions of the District Collector of Kanchipuram, medical relief team in ambulance along with 3 doctors, 6 nurse, 6 paramedical staff, medicines, injections, bandages and suture material visited village after village, from Thirukuzhikundram, Vuyali Kuppam and Pudupattinam treating over 1000 patients. Since then, every day our medical team has been visiting the coastal villages.This table gives the details of the people treated, hospital team in the effort and cost incurred by the hospital. We continue to serve the affected people.
Hindu Mission Hospital, Tambaram, requests donors to contribute new clothes - Saree, T-shirt, dhoti, bed sheets, blanket, medicines and money to help sustain this humanitarian relief. 
Mumbai Flood Relief
A Facilitator organization, Give Foundation, Mumbai approached Hindu Mission Hospital for Free Medicine for Flood Relief on 4th August 2005. 
Hindu Mission Hospital supplied free medicine worth Rs.1 Lakh. on 5th Aug 2005. Jet Airways airlifted the medicines free of cost.
Sundaram Finance Golden Jubilee Critical Care Block
ICU - Block
A New Critical Care and Trauma care Center has started in our hospital. As our hospital is on the National highway, We have a high inflow of accident victims and trauma cases. We are an approved accident trauma care centre. It has 16 beds, with ventilator and other life saving equipment
We also have a Cardiac Care Centre with Echo Cardio Gram and Treadmill facilities
We also have a separate Burns Ward to treat fire accident victims.
