A devoted social reformer for over four decades, Shri. D.K. Srinivasan, Honorary Founder Secretary, gave up his successful business pursuits to serve society and established Hindu Mission Hospital, Tambaram. His visionary approach expanded far beyond healthcare—he championed education for first-generation learners and spearheaded numerous community welfare initiatives. He played a pivotal role in the development of the Valluvar Gurukulam Group of Schools, providing quality, value-based education to thousands of children and empowering families across the region. Dr. D. K. Sriram has been an integral part of Hindu Mission Hospital since its inception, bringing with him over 20 years of international experience in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. His global exposure has been pivotal in strengthening the hospital’s mission-driven, charitable healthcare model through the adoption of international best practices.
Since 2012, Dr. Sriram has led the transformation of Hindu Mission Hospital into a modern, multi-speciality quaternary care center. Under his leadership, several Centers of Excellence have been established, including the Heart Institute, Brain and Spine Institute, Neuro Clinic, and Diabetes Institute, along with multiple advanced specialty departments—significantly enhancing the hospital’s clinical depth and quality of care.
A strong proponent of medical education and capacity building, Dr. Sriram has developed the hospital into a robust academic hub. He has introduced DNB Fellowship programs in General Medicine and General Surgery, expanded Allied Health Courses, and provides academic leadership to the Hindu Mission College of Nursing and Hindu Mission School of Nursing, fostering the development of skilled healthcare professionals.
Research and innovation remain central to his vision. Hindu Mission Hospital now has a dedicated Research Department supported by an independent Ethics Committee approved by the Government of India.
