Emergency Craniotomy
Emergency craniotomy is performed to relieve increased intracranial pressure caused by bleeding or swelling within the brain. This life-saving procedure involves:
- Removal of a skull bone flap to evacuate hematomas in SAH and SDH
- Decompression and control of bleeding in TBI-related contusions or clots
- Prevention of brain herniation through timely surgical intervention
- Repair of skull fractures, including elevation of depressed bone fragments to avoid vascular injury
Tuberculoma Excision
Tuberculoma excision involves the precise microsurgical removal of tuberculosis-related brain granulomas. The procedure is performed with utmost care to preserve surrounding healthy brain tissue and minimize neurological deficits.
- Image-guided surgery and neuronavigation for accuracy
- Effective management of lesions causing seizures or focal neurological symptoms
- Post-operative anti-tuberculosis therapy to enhance recovery and long-term outcomes
