Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure that uses sound waves to project images from inside the body. Doppler is a more advanced technology as it shows blood flow inside the blood vessels.

This is a diagnostic test conducted by a device that uses X-rays to screen breasts for possible ailments or malignancies.

Often, ultrasound technology and computer tomography can be helpful in conducting certain procedures to check and treat growths, lesions or abnormalities in body tissues.

Doctors may perform CT or ultrasound guided aspiration wherein a thin, hollow needle is inserted into the growth/lesion and fluid is drained, while being guided by the images on the computer.

In a biopsy, a similar procedure is carried out to remove a small piece of the affected tissue to rule out any malignancy.

This is an effective procedure that is used to remove accumulated fluid from the patient’s lungs or abdomen by using a small tube-like instrument.

This is imaging of the heart done with the help of advanced ultrasound equipment.

This is a specialised investigation procedure to diagnose problems of the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract using X rays.

In this diagnostic procedure the radiologist will ask the patient to ingest a barium solution that will help outline the oesophagus, stomace and intestines. A X-ray of the GI tract after this, will help see any

abnormalities within the region.

Commonly referred to as the cath lab and attached to the cardiology facility, this specially equipped laboratory has advanced technology that helps in various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Using gadgets in a cath lab, doctors can check how blood is flowing in the arteries and if there are any abnormalities that may affect the heart.

Procedures such as angiogram, angioplasty and ablations are performed here.

A procedure that uses a computer linked to an x-ray machine to make a series of detailed pictures of areas inside the body.
