Gynaecological problems
treated in the Department

Children reach puberty or become sexually mature too early for their age. When girls experience puberty at age 8 or before and boys become mature by the time they are 9 years, it is called precocious puberty.

The doctor will counsel the child and parents and in some cases, recommend treatment such as hormone therapy.

It is a debilitating condition, in which the tissue that lines the inner wall of the uterus (endometrial tissue) starts growing outside the uterus. This can affect the ovaries, fallopian tubes and the pelvis.

Our gynaecologists have the expertise of diagnosing this condition and giving timely treatment to control the symptoms, which include heavy menstrual bleeding, lower abdominal pain and irregular periods.

Fibroids are benign growth that occur on the wall of the uterus and are common among women.

Most often they do not pose any problems but if a woman has large or multiple fibroids, it can lead to heavy bleeding and painful periods. Fibroids can be removed through minimally invasive surgery.

These are small sacs filled with fluid that appear on the inner or outer wall of the ovaries and can sometimes cause pain and discomfort.

It is the second most common cancer among women in India, after breast cancer and often goes undetected until it is in an advanced stage.

This type of cancer affects the cells in the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus and is caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

Early screening and diagnosis can help women get suitable treatment.

Our Holistic
Services

Our doctors help couples plan for a future pregnancy and give the right advice on how to prepare for it. Starting a family is a big decision and the future parents need to be informed about any health concerns they may have, that would affect conception and pregnancy.

The gynaecologist will give you valuable information on making certain lifestyle changes if necessary, eating healthy and staying fit.

They may also recommend tests to determine if some couples are at risk of passing on genetic problems to their child.

The gynaecologist will not only monitor the pregnancy but also help the mother make healthy choices during the pregnancy, so that she can have a smooth and natural childbirth.

This type of care includes recommending necessary supplements to the mother, conducting screening tests to check the health of the foetus and the mother and giving advice on diet, exercise and relaxation techniques for a healthy and happy pregnancy and childbirth.

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology department has all the modern facilities and superior clinical expertise to handle difficult pregnancies.

Doctors and nurses constantly monitor high-risk pregnancies and deliver prompt care if there is an emergency.

We always strive for a natural delivery, and help the pregnant woman to facilitate the same.

In the event that a vaginal delivery is not possible because of various reasons, such as an obstetric emergency or risk to the mother or baby, our doctors have the skill and expertise to conduct a Caesarean section delivery.

The first few days after birth are crucial for mother and newborn, as mortality rates are highest in the first week after delivery.

Postnatal care includes supporting the mother to exclusively breastfeed the baby and keeping the baby warm.

Appropriate interventions are made to keep the mother and baby out of danger. The doctor will also counsel the mother and give her guidance on caring for the baby.
